home::jewel colors

these jewel tones in the home from domino mag inspire and entice but what I love best are all the lovely little naturey things- a knarly tree end table, bird wallpaper, antlers and twigs...
enjoy.

saphire, lapis, amethyst and rose tourmaline

bold blues (aquamarine, turquoise)

a cozy and colourful nook, peridot and turquoise with accents of ruby and rose

kitchen- a good place to experiment with bold colors as you experiment with bold new seasonings and spices

amber, rose, amethyst, turquoise and peridot (my new favorite green)

turquoise, chrysocolla

a soothing environ created by an aquamarine jewel color scheme

amber and topaz tones are some of my favorite right now

lovely turquoise accent

some more muted, calmer home tones (amber, aquamarine and rose in muted tones)

I'm noticing that it takes fairly pattern free furniture in solid colors to pull off these bold accent colors. That seems to take a lot of foresight, since buying a lot of solid colors may seem kinda scary and boring.
The little nook bedroom reminds me of the apt. my fam. stayed at when they visited me in Argentina. Did you see pics of it? It didn't have the cool curtain by the bed, though.
The pink kitchen rocks.
They should paint the outside of the tub.
Will you help me decide what colors to paint my apt. when I finally get around to it?

absolutely! I would love to be on your painters' crew! you should also show me those argentina picks- my guess is a hip euro-latino place like that has gotta a lotta great decorating and design. yeah? i think you're right about the solid colors with accents- if you're gonna play around with such bright fabrics and accent pieces it's probably important to start with nuetral bases. I think some of my favorite elements from those pictures are a rich plum chair with lighter accents around or a earthy nuetral piece with playful colors. great insight leah!
